About Euro Exchange

The Euro (EUR) is the official currency of 20 European Union member states and one of the most widely held currencies in the world. We accept all denominations of Euro banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.

Current Euro Banknotes

Euro banknotes are currently issued in two series: the original 2002 series and the updated Europa series, introduced progressively from 2013 onwards. Both remain legal tender and we exchange all denominations from each. The higher-value notes, including the €200 and €100, feature enhanced security elements such as an emerald number and portrait watermark, making them among the most secure banknotes in circulation.

Old Series & Damaged Notes

Unlike most high street exchanges, we accept worn, torn, and otherwise damaged Euro banknotes, provided the note remains at least 50% intact. The original 2002 series notes — including the €50 issued 2002 — are still valid and exchangeable, though we may apply a slightly reduced rate for notes in poor condition. If you have old pre-Euro currencies such as French Francs, Deutsche Marks, or Italian Lire, we can exchange those too.

Euro Coins

We accept the full range of Euro coins, from the 1 cent piece right up to the €2 coin and the 50 cent coin. Most banks and bureaux de change refuse coins altogether, so we offer one of the simplest ways to turn those leftover euros into pounds. The exchange rate for coins is slightly lower than for banknotes, reflecting the additional handling involved.

Euro Exchange FAQ

Can I exchange old or damaged Euro banknotes?

Yes! Unlike most high street banks and exchange offices, we accept worn, torn, and damaged Euro banknotes from both the original 2002 series and the newer Europa series. As long as your note is at least 50% intact we can exchange it, though the rate may be slightly lower than for notes in good condition.

Do you accept Euro coins as well as banknotes?

Yes, we accept all Euro coins from the 1 cent coin right up to the €2 coin. Most banks and bureaux de change refuse coins altogether, so we are one of the easiest ways to turn those leftover euros into pounds. The rate for coins is slightly lower than for banknotes due to handling costs.

Do you accept both the original 2002 Euro notes and the newer Europa series?

Yes, we accept both series of Euro banknotes. The original 2002 series notes remain legal tender alongside the updated Europa series introduced progressively from 2013, and we exchange all denominations from both. If you are unsure which series your notes belong to, check the individual denomination pages for guidance.

My Euro coins have different designs on one side — are they still valid?

Yes, absolutely. All Euro coins share a common reverse design showing a map of Europe, but the obverse varies depending on which of the 20 eurozone countries issued them — for example, Irish coins show a harp, while Greek coins depict historical ships. These national design variations make no difference to their value or exchangeability.

How do I send my Euros to you and how quickly will I be paid?

We aim to process all orders and make payment to your UK bank account within 24 hours of receiving your currency.
